I have had so many enquiries from fellow artists and printmakers asking for advice about pricing and presenting work, gallery representation and artist terms.

I won’t suggest for a minute that I know everything but I do have experience in Mentoring, Curatorial Development and Gallery Management. I have been running advice sessions and mentoring emerging and professional artists for the past five years. I own and manage a small gallery; have chaired Upland Arts Development CIC (which runs Spring Fling, Scotland’s premiere Open Studio event); and am a practicing printmaker.

This free advice session is aimed towards those at the start of their artistic careers, those considering approaching galleries or shops for the first time and those who are simply looking for advice.

In this session, Sarah will unravel the complexities of pricing.

Many artists struggle with pricing their work and this session will break down the considerations that you need to make, providing pricing formulas that work. We will look at both wholesale and retail pricing as well as SOR and the importance of having a clear pricing structure when approaching retail outlets and galleries. The session will also briefly cover different available avenues for selling work both online and physically.

To attend this session booking is essential.

This event is FREE to attend but participants are welcome to contribute the price of a coffee to help me continue to offer similar events in future. To do so, you can visit my Kofi account at https://ko-fi.com/sarahmakesprints
